Coordinated Scheduling. Clear Reporting.
The service plan covers scheduling, access, cleaning and delivery of the completion photos. Usually booked about a week out, and you get the date straight from the team.
The constraint on a commercial roof is rarely the cleaning. It is roof access, who escorts the team, which hours are acceptable, and what else is up there: HVAC, extraction, skylights, a fragile deck. Settle those once and a recurring schedule runs itself. Send operating hours, the access arrangement, who holds the roof key and any certificate of insurance wording or vendor onboarding form with the inquiry, not on the morning of the first visit.

What a commercial scope names
Vague scopes are where recurring maintenance goes wrong. Yours names each of these.
- The array or arrays included, by roof section or building, with an approximate module count.
- Visit frequency, and which months the cleans fall in relative to your production peak.
- The access arrangement, escort requirement and acceptable working hours.
- What is documented per visit and who receives it.
- What happens when CA Solar Wash finds damage: who is told, how fast, and what the team does not touch.
- What is excluded: electrical work, inverter servicing and anything that needs a solar contractor license.
Purified water, soft brushes, no pressure
The method on a commercial roof is the method on a home roof. Deionized water and soft brushes lift the dust film and rinse clean without mineral spotting. No pressure washer on the glass, no abrasive pads, no chemical residue. The proposed method is checked against the installed module instructions.
Pigeons find commercial arrays too, and on a low-slope roof the mess spreads fast across the membrane. CA Solar Wash clears nests and droppings and fits galvanized steel mesh around the array perimeter with no roof penetration. On a commercial membrane that matters more than anywhere: nothing is drilled through your roof.

What CA Solar Wash does not touch on your roof
The team cleans, inspects visually and documents. The team does not disconnect, re-torque electrical connections, open combiner boxes, service inverters or repair the system. Those need a licensed solar contractor, and on a commercial system usually your own approved vendor under the warranty or O&M agreement in place.
What the team does is tell you fast and with photographs when the team finds something: a cracked module, visible discoloration at a connection, damaged conduit, a blocked drain, lifted flashing. The Department of Energy treats that routine observation as part of ordinary solar operations and maintenance, without replacing the site maintenance provider or an electrical inspection.
How a commercial visit runs
Scroll sideways to see all columns.
| Stage | What happens | What you provide |
|---|---|---|
| Paperwork | License and insurance details go into your vendor file. | COI wording, onboarding forms, induction requirements. |
| Access | Roof access, escort and hours are confirmed before the day. | Key holder contact and acceptable working window. |
| Clean | Deionized water and soft brushes across the array. Any nesting assessed and separately scoped before disturbance. | Outdoor water connection where the site has one. |
| Report | Before-and-after photos plus anything that needs attention beyond cleaning. | Who receives the report and in what format. |
| Repeat | Next condition review or clean agreed from the site needs. | Sign-off on the recurring schedule. |
Agree capacity, isolation and acceptance before booking
The proposed service should be matched to the size and access requirements of the project. Confirm the work area, estimated duration, equipment needs and any sections outside the proposed scope before raising a purchase order.
Your approved system operator remains responsible for electrical isolation, lockout procedures and system restart where required. Define acceptance by the work completed and records delivered, not an unmeasured output increase. Identify who receives urgent findings and who authorizes any change.
