Hard water is the Valley's window problem
White marks on exterior windows may be mineral deposits rather than loose dirt. They are mineral deposits left by sprinkler overspray drying on the glass in full sun, day after day. Early on the deposit sits on the surface and cleans off. Left long enough it bonds. Eventually it etches into the glass itself, and at that point no cleaner, no blade and no amount of scrubbing brings it back, because the surface is physically pitted.
A real quote has to tell those apart, and that takes a look at the actual glass. CA Solar Wash tells you which windows come up clean, which need a mineral treatment beyond a standard clean, and which may have permanent damage needing a glass specialist. You hear it before the work starts, not after the invoice.

What is included
Standard residential cleaning covers the following. Anything beyond it is priced separately and named on the quote.
- Exterior glass cleaned with purified water and left to dry spot-free.
- Frames and sills wiped down in the same pass.
- Sliding door and window tracks cleared of grit and debris.
- Screens removed, rinsed and refitted where they are sound enough to handle.
- Interior glass where booked. Say so in advance so access and time are allowed for.
- A note and photograph of any cracked pane, failed double-pane seal or damaged frame found.
Spotting: what lifts and what does not

| What you see | What it is | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Light white haze that wipes partly off | Fresh mineral deposit on the surface. | Assess during cleaning; mineral treatment may be separate. |
| Dense white spotting that does not wipe | Bonded mineral deposit. | Needs a mineral treatment beyond the standard clean, quoted as its own line. |
| Spotting that feels rough or looks frosted | Possible bonded deposits or damage; appearance alone is not a diagnosis. | Assess a suitable test area; permanent damage may need a glass specialist. |
| Fog between the panes | Failed double-pane seal. | Not a cleaning problem. Photographed and pointed out. |

Book windows last
Window cleaning is the last job in the sequence, never the first. Washing a roof, a driveway or an array after the windows sends airborne dirt and overspray straight back onto clean glass. When you book several services together, windows are scheduled last for that reason, and the combined visit is priced as one trip.
That applies to sprinklers too. If overspray is spotting your glass, cleaning the windows without adjusting the heads puts you on a cycle. CA Solar Wash points out which heads are hitting the glass. Have the irrigation spray adjusted so the same exposure does not immediately recur.
What to send with your request
Send the property address, the number of stories and roughly how many windows, or a photo of each elevation, which is easier. Say whether you want interior glass included, whether there are screens, and whether any window is fixed, high or over a roof section. If you have visible white spotting, a close-up of the worst pane says more than a description.
For commercial work, add the access hours and whether the glass is at street level or above it. Storefront glass, entry doors and interior partitions are quoted on the frontage and the frequency you need rather than a per-pane count.
Tell us about coatings, films and access
Include tinted film, coated glass, skylights, divided panes and any panes above a conservatory, patio cover or fragile roof. Share the window manufacturer instructions if available. Metal scrapers and aggressive mineral treatments are not assumed to be suitable for every pane.
For interior work, confirm who will provide access and move fragile items from the window area. Ask the quote to distinguish exterior glass, interiors, tracks, screens and mineral treatment; a count of windows alone does not define the job.
